When we set out to build the new Sliver hardtail, we wanted to build something lightweight, race ready and easy on the pocketbook.
We wanted it to have modern race geometry, but at the same time provide an added level of comfort. We developed specific tube shapes that provided good lateral rigidity, while at the same time would lessen the vertical harshness of the ride. The result is a bike that has all of the acceleration and speed of a race hardtail, but is ready for all day adventures.
We started with AN-6 aluminum tubes which are custom butted to provide a lively ride quality. We CNC machine the dropouts and relieve the BB to lessen weight. We also drop the top tube more than typical hardtails to ensure you have plenty of clearance. The chain and seat stays are S-shaped, which provides improved rider comfort without a loss in lateral stiffness.The Sliver features triple water bottle mounts on the large and XL size, and dual water bottle mounts on the two smaller sizes. The brakes direct mount to the post style dropouts and the derailleur hanger uses stainless steel bolts for durability.
